Arne Slot says Manchester United’s performances have been much better than their league position shows.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot is looking forward to Sunday’s clash with Manchester United, calling it “probably the most-watched game in the world” as the two rivals meet for the 100th time at Anfield.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Slot recognised the importance of the fixture, saying, “I know how special it is — I experienced it last season and it truly stands out.”
Despite Liverpool’s three consecutive defeats, Slot hopes the occasion can help spark a turnaround in form.
He praised Manchester United’s performances, insisting their league position doesn’t reflect their true quality: “In my opinion, United have had a better start to the season than the table suggests.”
Slot expects a tough encounter and says Liverpool must be at their best to get a result. Reflecting on last season’s draw at Anfield, he described the match as a chance for his team to prove their strength against one of their biggest rivals.
The Dutchman also underlined the importance of the Anfield atmosphere, confident the supporters will rally behind the team.
“Our fans can and will help us on Sunday,” he added.
