Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney picked up knocks during the international break, this makes both a doubt for the Leeds visit to the Emirates stadium.

Ghana boss confirmed Thomas Partey injury issue after he was left out of Ghana’s African Cup of Nations qualification clash against Angolo.

And Hughton confirmed Arsenal’s worst fears after the Black Star game against Angolo by revealing Partey had suffered a knock.

“Thomas has some small issues, a small injury issue and we felt it was too big of a risk to start him,” the Ghana boss said when asked why Partey had been left on the bench.

Tierney was forced off after a strong tackle from Manchester City’s Rodri. His fitness will determine his availability for the Leeds visit.

Elsewhere, Eddie Nketiah wasn’t selected for international action with England after suffering a setback of his own.

Arteta will be hoping William Saliba’s injury isn’t too bad. Saliba was called up by Didier Deschamps for France but had to withdraw with injury.
