Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Ben White will be sidelined for several months after undergoing knee surgery during the international break. The full-back, who had been struggling with the injury throughout the season, finally opted for the procedure, marking a significant setback for the team.

Arteta described the situation as a “nightmare,” highlighting the string of injuries that have plagued the squad. “It’s been different kinds of struggles, never the same issue, and it wasn’t improving,” he said. “We had to prioritize the player’s well-being, but unfortunately, it means a few months out.”

White has been instrumental in Arsenal’s rise as title challengers, starting 36 and 35 Premier League matches in the last two seasons. His absence adds to Arsenal’s injury woes, with captain Martin Ødegaard sidelined for two months, and Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice recently forced to miss England duties due to knocks.

The Gunners, currently nine points behind league leaders Liverpool, are winless in four competitions and face Nottingham Forest at home on Saturday as they look to turn their season around.

  1. I’m one who has believed, FA agenda has been against us for several years. Injuries is hard to pass on to agenda’s, but to see how Sake has been heavily marked, and continually taken out makes me feel player protection as far as rules are concerned , is only for certain clubs. Everytime controversy acures at an Arsenal game, a rule gets changed afterwards. Many will say it’s excuses, but I have to point out that in ten games, we have had the same referee 5 times, we have had 3 of the tamest red cards ever. That same referee has sent off in his career 9 Arsenal players, more than any other club. Coincidence or what.
