After the match, Fernandes explained why Garnacho didn’t celebrate his goal. The Argentina forward, who came on in the 57th minute to replace Marcus Rashford, scored a brilliant goal to seal the win, curling a shot into the top corner after receiving a pass from Fernandes.

Despite the stunning strike, Garnacho opted not to celebrate, which many speculated was due to recent fan criticism. The 19-year-old had recently been involved in a confrontation with a supporter who criticized his performance, telling him to “pass better, score a goal, and work on your first touch.”

After the match, Fernandes was seen talking to Garnacho, and Amad Diallo joined them for a hug. Speaking to the BBC, Fernandes revealed that Garnacho felt he had lost the support of some fans. “I told him people will always complain, but many people like him and appreciate what he does,” Fernandes explained. “I encouraged him to celebrate, as it was a special goal. He’s a special player, and it’s the difference-makers like him who win us games.”

This season, Garnacho has contributed to 11 goals for United, who climbed to 13th in the Premier League with the win. New manager Ruben Amorim is set to take over on November 11, a day after his final match with Sporting CP.
