Bukayo Saka reacts as verdict delivered during Arsenal’s injury concerns

Arsenal’s latest update comes as Bukayo Saka continues his recovery from a hamstring injury picked up in last month’s Premier League clash with Leeds United.

The Gunners return to league action on Saturday with a home fixture against Nottingham Forest (12.30pm kick-off), but Saka is not expected to feature. The 24-year-old sustained the injury in the 5-0 win over Leeds, ruling him out of the Liverpool game as well as England’s World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.

Initial concerns were that the problem might mirror last season’s setback, when Saka was sidelined for nearly four months. Fortunately, the current prognosis is weeks rather than months, with the clash against Manchester City on Sunday, 21 September (4.30pm kick-off) targeted for a potential return—depending on how his recovery progresses.

While sidelined, both Arsenal and Saka have reminded fans of his influence. The winger’s strike against Leeds has been named the club’s Goal of the Month for August. The effort, in which he rifled the ball high into the net from the right side of the box, was highlighted on Arsenal’s social media. Saka later shared the replay and award announcement on his own Instagram story.

Despite missing a large chunk of last season, the England international still recorded 11 goals and 14 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. He’ll be eager to surpass those numbers this campaign, a feat that could prove crucial in Arsenal’s pursuit of the Premier League title and their bid to dethrone Liverpool.
