Chelsea and Arsenal now just £10m apart on Havertz valuation with Arsenal ready to increase their offer
Jacob Steinberg of the Guardian is today reporting that Arsenal are ready to increase their offer for Kai Havertz to £60m and are “confident” that the Blues will accept.
Arsenal confident of sealing the signing of Kai Havertz and planning to increase their offer. Chelsea holding out for £70m but they need to sell and £60m should be enough. Bayern Munich interested too but Arsenal are favourites
The Gunners have already had one offer turned down, and while Chelsea apparently want £60m for the attacker, it doesn’t feel like the two parties will take long to bridge that gap.
The Blues want players off their books before the end of the month for accounting purposes, while Arsenal will want to secure their squad for next season as soon as possible.
Most reports claim that Havertz has already agreed personal terms with Mikel Arteta’s side, so that stage shouldn’t take long either. Whether it’s £60m or £70m we get for the former Bayer Leverkusen international, that cash will go straight into funding his replacement – hopefully a true striker who can score consistently in a way that Havertz wasn’t able to.
