Chelsea’s promising talent set to leave in January for profit-oriented reasons
Fabrizio Romano has just put out an interesting update on one of the lesser known transfer situations at Chelsea.
Zain Silcott Duberry is a youth team player who doesn’t get much attention, mainly because of the sheer volume of talent Cobham produces. But other clubs are taking note, and today Romano has informed us all that the forward is attracting attention from Championship and Premier League clubs interested in signing him in January.
After a great run in our youth ranks, the 18 year old is ready to graduate to senior football, and there was already a lot of chatter in the summer about a potential departure which ultimately didn’t happen.
ZSD has since trained with the first team on multiple occasions this season, usually a precursor to a loan move away to secure senior minutes. In this case, Chelsea may accept selling him on the cheap, but with a major sell on clause included.
