Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister has shared why the Al Nassr forward did not attend the funeral of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva.
Jota, 28, and his brother Silva, 25, tragically passed away after their Lamborghini caught fire due to a tire blowout in northwestern Spain.

Ronaldo expressed his sorrow with a heartfelt message: “It doesn’t make sense. Just recently we were together on the National Team, and you had just married. Although Ronaldo was absent, his sister, Katia Aveiro, offered an explanation on Instagram. She recounted her own experience of loss, discussing how their father’s funeral was marred by media attention and public curiosity, preventing the family from grieving privately.
She emphasized the profound pain of losing family and criticized the public’s tendency to focus on Ronaldo’s absence rather than respecting the family’s grief. Katia expressed her frustration with societal fanaticism and the trivialization of personal tragedies by media and commentators, urging for more compassion and understanding in such difficult times.
