Crystal Palace seeks to include a Liverpool star in a swap deal for Marc Guehi.

The future of Marc Guehi has taken an interesting turn, with reports indicating that Crystal Palace might allow the England defender to join Liverpool if Joe Gomez is included in a season-long loan.
According to the BBC, Palace is considering requesting Gomez as part of the deal. Liverpool aims to bolster their defense before the transfer window closes and views Guehi as a key target, having already made a £35 million bid.
In response, Palace has asked for an improved offer that includes £5 million in add-ons and a 10% sell-on clause.
Guehi’s Contract Situation
Guehi, 25, has only one year left on his contract, putting Palace at risk of losing him for free in 2026 if no agreement is reached. Reports suggest Guehi has already agreed on personal terms with Liverpool, leaving the clubs to finalize the deal.
Gomez’s Role and Palace’s Concerns
Palace’s interest in Gomez comes as the defender struggles for minutes at Anfield, having played just 18 minutes this season. Liverpool is hesitant to use Gomez as a makeweight, as manager Arne Slot values his experience and prefers a straightforward cash deal for Guehi.
Future Uncertainty
Palace is also looking for reinforcements, having considered signing Manuel Akanji from Manchester City, though the Swiss international is unsure about moving to Selhurst Park. This uncertainty complicates Guehi’s potential departure, as Palace won’t want to weaken their defense without a suitable replacement.
With Guehi’s contract situation and Liverpool’s strong interest, the upcoming days could be crucial for both clubs.
