“It’s all about freedom, and every game is different. I finally have that freedom. My teammates trust me, and the coach trusts me because when I play this way, this is my position. It’s all instinctual, and I can hurt defenders in many ways.”
What about James Maddison? While Maddison and Kulusevski have proven they can play together, there’s now little doubt that the former Juventus man has taken priority for the attacking midfield role. If Ange Postecoglou opts to revert to last season’s system, Kulusevski is likely to be the first choice as the number ten over the 27-year-old Maddison.
