Diogo Jota has spoken out about Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation and revealed what he’d gift the defender for Christmas.
Alexander-Arnold, who debuted for Liverpool in 2016 under Jurgen Klopp after rising through the club’s academy, has cemented his place as a key figure at Anfield. The 26-year-old right-back, now playing under Klopp’s successor Arne Slot, has made 330 appearances, scored 19 goals, and won a plethora of trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
Despite his success, Alexander-Arnold’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2025. If no new terms are agreed, he could leave on a free transfer, and rumors of interest from Real Madrid have persisted.

Since joining Liverpool from Wolves in 2020 for £41m, Jota has become a vital member of the squad, scoring 61 goals in 157 appearances and helping the team win the FA Cup and two League Cups.
When asked by Sky Sports what he would buy Alexander-Arnold for Christmas, Jota offered a lighthearted but pointed response: “What would I buy Trent? A pen so he can sign his contract.”
