Exclusive: Liverpool to hold talks with agents of 15 goal contribution speedster; Slot has already made contact

Liverpool Eyeing Frimpong as Potential Trent Replacement Amid Growing Exit Talk
A new right-back appears to be a top priority for Liverpool this summer, as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Anfield grows increasingly uncertain. With just three months left on his contract and Real Madrid maintaining strong interest, signs point to a potential departure for the 26-year-old vice-captain.
The speculation surrounding Trent has been constant, but the possibility of him joining the Spanish giants gained serious momentum when Fabrizio Romano reported that a move to Madrid is now “on.”
Liverpool Set for Frimpong Talks
Should Trent leave, Conor Bradley would be the only natural senior right-back in the squad. In anticipation of this, Liverpool are taking proactive steps. Sources close to Empire of the Kop reveal that the club’s hierarchy is preparing to meet with the representatives of Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.
This move aligns with earlier reports from Bundesliga insider Christian Falk, who stated that new manager Arne Slot has already been in regular contact with Frimpong and had hoped to bring him in last summer.
Frimpong Viewed as Ideal Trent Successor
Liverpool are also tracking Feyenoord’s young right-back Givairo Read, but Frimpong is viewed as a more immediate solution. With a €40m (£33.5m) release clause, the Dutch international offers great value for money, especially considering his European experience and standout qualities.
Known for his lightning pace and attacking output, Frimpong has tallied four goals and 11 assists this season alone, with 39 total goal contributions since the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
While Bradley has impressed when called upon, relying solely on him next season would be a huge risk. Bringing in a player of Frimpong’s level would go a long way in softening the blow of Trent’s potential departure.
Liverpool fans will be hoping that upcoming talks with Frimpong’s camp can help push a deal closer to completion.
