The Reds have previously been linked with Brighton’s Joao Pedro as a possible successor to the Uruguayan striker. However, as the season nears its conclusion, Arne Slot’s side is keeping their options open and actively exploring the market to reinforce their attacking line.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are among the clubs interested in Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak. The Swedish international has been in outstanding form, netting 17 Premier League goals this season along with five assists, plus two more goals in the Carabao Cup, where he helped the Magpies reach the final. His performances have drawn attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Arsenal.

Despite the interest, securing Isak’s signature won’t be easy. Newcastle are reportedly keen to extend his contract until 2030/2031 and offer him a salary increase as a reward for his impressive season.

If the 24-year-old forward does not sign an extension, Newcastle could consider offers in the region of €150-€170 million. However, such a fee is likely beyond Liverpool’s budget, as the club has taken a more cautious approach in the transfer market.

Given the financial hurdles, Liverpool may shift their focus to more affordable alternatives. Inter Milan’s Marcus Thuram has also been linked as a potential option to replace Núñez at Anfield.

In addition to attacking reinforcements, Liverpool are also looking to strengthen their defense, with Tottenham Hotspur’s Micky van de Ven emerging as a target.
