Fabrizio Romano provides fresh update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Eberechi Eze

Fabrizio Romano has clarified that, despite claims made in the last 24 hours, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace have not yet finalised an agreement for Eberechi Eze.

Earlier, Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe suggested that both clubs had reached a verbal agreement on a fee, with The Sun later reporting that Tottenham had agreed to pay just over £60m, half of which would be upfront.

Romano, however, explained on his YouTube channel that while talks are progressing and a deal is close, there are still some minor details—mainly relating to the structure of the transfer—that need resolving. He added that he fully expects the move to go through, with Eze likely to become a Spurs player soon.

Another factor delaying the deal is Crystal Palace’s insistence on securing a replacement before sanctioning Eze’s exit. Reports suggest they could use Tottenham’s upfront payment to target Bilal El Khannouss, meaning Spurs may have to wait until Palace complete that signing before finalising their move for the England international.
