Speculation has risen that one of these stars could leave at the end of the season, with recent rumors linking Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid. In the meantime, Liverpool have already secured Jarell Quansah’s future, with the 21-year-old signing a new long-term deal last week.

Now, the club is close to finalizing another important deal with Konaté. Romano reports that negotiations with the French centre-back are progressing well, with only a few small details left to address after talks began in early October. On his YouTube channel, Romano shared that Konaté is “very happy” at Liverpool and feels valued by both manager Arne Slot and the club.

Konaté is seen as a crucial part of Liverpool’s future, having delivered impressive performances this season. His impact has been so significant that France manager Didier Deschamps considered him for the national team captaincy.

With both Konaté and Quansah secured, Liverpool are well-prepared for Van Dijk’s eventual departure. Konaté is poised to lead the club’s defense for years and may take on a leadership role as senior players gradually leave Anfield.
