Fans noticed Vinicius Jr’s two-word message after scoring a stunning goal in Real Madrid’s comeback win over Borussia Dortmund.
Real Madrid hosted Dortmund in the Champions League, where fans caught what Vinicius Jr said after netting a brilliant solo goal. On Tuesday night, the reigning champions faced Dortmund at the Santiago Bernabeu in a rematch of last season’s final.
Despite Dortmund’s strong start, taking a 2-0 lead with goals from Donyell Malen and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in the first half, Madrid rallied in the second half. Antonio Rudiger and Vinicius scored within two minutes to level the match.
As Madrid pressed for the winner, they finally broke through when Lucas Vazquez made it 3-2 in the 83rd minute. Four minutes later, Vinicius secured the victory with a spectacular solo effort, shouting “Estoy aquí” (“I’m here”) after his goal.
To cap off his performance, Vinicius completed his hat-trick in stoppage time, sealing a 5-2 win. With the victory, Madrid climbed to ninth place in the Champions League standings, having earned six points from three matches.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side remains three points behind group leaders Aston Villa, who have enjoyed an impressive Champions League return with wins over BSC Young Boys, Bayern Munich, and Bologna without conceding a goal.
Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk at the Emirates, though manager Mikel Arteta faces injury concerns after Riccardo Calafiori was forced off in the 72nd minute.
