Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has decisively dismissed the notion of comparing Arsenal defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães to the iconic Chelsea center-back duo of John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho. While covering Arsenal’s Champions League match on television, Lampard was asked if Saliba and Gabriel could be likened to the famed Chelsea pair. His response was straightforward: “No! Not yet.”

Lampard stressed that while both Arsenal defenders are talented and on the rise, they have not yet achieved the same level of success as Terry and Carvalho, who won multiple Premier League titles and a Champions League with Chelsea. He noted that it is sustained success and trophy wins that differentiate legends. “If they go on to win two or three Premier Leagues and a Champions League, then maybe you can compare them,” Lampard remarked.
