“Sporting Breaks Silence on Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United Links with Bold Statement Ahead of Nacional Clash”

Ruben Amorim is reportedly in advanced talks to step in as Manchester United’s new manager, following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag after United’s recent 2-1 loss to West Ham, which dropped them to 14th place in the Premier League. Sporting, Amorim’s current club, has issued a public statement about his future amid the negotiations. The 39-year-old Sporting coach is now the top candidate to replace Ten Hag, who was relieved of his position on Monday.

While Ruud van Nistelrooy temporarily leads United, Amorim’s move seems imminent, with United expected to activate a €10 million (£8.3m) release clause specified in Amorim’s Sporting contract for a small number of elite clubs, including United. This release clause, as highlighted in a financial statement by Sporting, would allow Amorim to depart his current position.

Reports also suggest that United representatives are set to travel to Portugal on Tuesday evening to finalize the deal. As a result, Sporting’s upcoming Taça da Liga match against Nacional may mark Amorim’s final game in charge, with his arrival at Old Trafford expected in time for United’s clash against Chelsea on Sunday. In the meantime, Van Nistelrooy will oversee United’s squad as they face Leicester in the Carabao Cup round of 16 on Wednesday.
