Of course AC Milan are excited to have him – they’ve had great success signing out cast odds, from Olivier Giroud to Fikayo Tomori – but they also wanted to know why things hadn’t worked out at Chelsea.

Pulisic was quite open in saying he wished he had had more opportunities, and it’s certainly true that he was treated very much as a spare part in the last 12 months after failing to secure a move last summer. That was only made worse by the arrival of two new wingers in January.
The USA star will always be a player who came close but never quite clicked at Stamford Bridge – let’s hope for him and for Milan he can make it work at the San Siro.
