“Jamie Carragher Calls for Liverpool to Land Premier League Star to Address Andy Robertson Problem”

“Jamie Carragher Pushes Liverpool to Sign Premier League Star as Solution to Andy Robertson Dilemma”
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has voiced criticism of Andy Robertson’s recent form, particularly after the defender’s costly mistakes led to Liverpool dropping two points against Fulham on Saturday.
The match started poorly for Robertson, who suffered a tough tackle from Fulham’s Issa Diop early on. While some argued the challenge warranted a red card, both the referee and VAR disagreed. Unfortunately, things only got worse for the Liverpool left-back.
Shortly after, Robertson’s poor defensive positioning allowed Andreas Pereira to score, handing Fulham a shock lead at Anfield. Just six minutes later, Robertson’s heavy touch gifted the ball to Harry Wilson, who broke through on goal. In his attempt to recover, Robertson fouled Wilson outside the box, resulting in a straight red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. Liverpool were reduced to 10 men for the rest of the game.
Cody Gakpo equalized early in the second half, but Fulham regained the lead in the 76th minute through Rodrigo Muniz. With defeat looming, Diogo Jota came off the bench to salvage a point for Liverpool in the dying moments of the game.
Jamie Carragher Urges Liverpool to Sign Milos Kerkez
Following Robertson’s performance, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has called on the club to address their left-back issue by signing Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez. Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher highlighted Robertson’s struggles and Bournemouth’s young left-back as a potential solution.
“He doesn’t look like he’s running back fully,” Carragher said, referencing Robertson’s red card incident. “He needs help. Liverpool don’t have any back-up, and it’s something they need to address in January.
“Kerkez has been a revelation at Bournemouth. The technical director who brought him there, Richard Hughes, is now the sporting director at Liverpool. Kerkez looks like a proper full-back—he’s aggressive and has been superb since joining the Premier League.”
Robertson’s Form Raises Concerns
This season, Robertson’s form has been inconsistent. Last month, he conceded a penalty against Southampton and repeated the mistake against Real Madrid, though goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher saved both efforts.
Despite being a crucial part of Liverpool’s success and a fan favorite, Robertson’s recent performances have raised questions about whether the club should invest in a long-term replacement.
In addition to Kerkez, Alphonso Davies has also been linked as a potential successor to Robertson, with the Bayern Munich star tipped as a high-profile candidate to bolster Liverpool’s defense.
