Speaking after Wednesday’s game against the Reds, the 21-year-old told The Liverpool Echo:

“I definitely think that I can join Liverpool. We can be happy that we won against big names, but they didn’t bring their strongest squad. It’s a shame they didn’t.”

Bakayoko also emphasized his current satisfaction at his club, saying:

“I’m in a good place. I feel the confidence of the entire club. As long as that is there, I feel good, whether I play well or badly. I wouldn’t make a move to Saudi Arabia now, no. But you have to evaluate every situation.”

His comments seem like a clear message to Anfield—if Liverpool wants him, he’s more than willing to consider a move.

While Newcastle United had been linked with Bakayoko, reports this month suggested Liverpool was also ready to enter the race for his signature. Over the summer, journalist Sacha Tavolieri claimed the winger was already on Liverpool’s radar—a link worth revisiting, especially given Mo Salah’s contract situation.

Although Liverpool has depth on the right wing with Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz, a long-term replacement for Salah would be necessary if the Egyptian departs.

Scoring against Arne Slot’s team in the Champions League certainly served as a strong audition, adding to his impressive tally of eight goals and three assists this season.
