At the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, Klopp stepped down as Liverpool manager, concluding nearly nine years filled with trophies.

Throughout the summer, the 57-year-old was linked to various positions, but none felt like the right fit until now.

On Wednesday morning, it was officially announced that Klopp will become Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer.

A statement confirmed, “Jürgen Klopp, the 57-year-old German, will take on the role of Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull starting January 1, 2025. He will oversee the company’s international network of soccer clubs.”

Reflecting on his decision to take the role, Klopp expressed, “After nearly 25 years on the sidelines, I couldn’t be more thrilled to engage in a project like this. While the position may have changed, my passion for football and the people who make the game special remains the same.

“By joining Red Bull on a global scale, I aim to develop, enhance, and support the incredible football talent at our disposal.

He added, “There are numerous ways we can achieve this, utilizing the elite knowledge and experience that Red Bull has, as well as learning from other sports and industries.

“Together, we can explore what’s possible. I see my primary role as a mentor to the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs, but ultimately, I am part of a unique, innovative, and forward-thinking organization. This opportunity truly excites me.”

Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull’s CEO of Corporate Projects and Investments, remarked, “We are incredibly proud of this exceptional signing, which is undoubtedly the most significant in Red Bull’s soccer history. Jürgen Klopp is one of the most remarkable and influential figures in world soccer, possessing extraordinary skills and charisma.

Additionally, it was announced that Klopp will be formally introduced as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer during a press conference scheduled for mid-January.
