“Jurgen Klopp’s Emotional Liverpool Farewell Sparks Rapid Football Comeback in Exciting New Role”
Jurgen Klopp departed from Liverpool at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, following nearly nine years as the club’s manager. During his tenure, he led the team to multiple major victories, including the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.
Since leaving Anfield, Klopp has been linked to high-profile roles with teams like England, the USA, and Barcelona. However, it was rumored that he intended to take a break from football before making his next career decision.
On Wednesday, reports surfaced that Klopp is set to assume a new position. According to Christian Falk of BILD, Klopp will become the “Global Head of Soccer” for Red Bull starting January 1, 2025.
Sky Sports Germany also reported that Klopp will be advising all Red Bull-affiliated teams, including Red Bull Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, and Red Bull Bragantino, in areas such as coaching, player development, team philosophy, and recruiting new players and managers.
His former assistant at Liverpool, Pepijn Lijnders, is currently managing RB Salzburg but faces pressure after a poor start to the season. Salzburg recently suffered a 5-0 defeat to Sturm Graz and a 4-0 loss to Brest in the Champions League.
Several members of Klopp’s former Liverpool backroom staff, including Vitor Matos and Andreas Kornmayer, have also moved to Austria. Additionally, former Liverpool players Bobby Clark and Stefan Bajcetic have joined Salzburg, with Clark signing a permanent deal this summer and Bajcetic arriving on a season-long loan. Both players were given their first-team debuts by Klopp.
