Latest update on the £55m Chelsea’s transfer target who is set to change his agent
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Barcelona winger and Chelsea transfer target Raphinha is now set to change his agent.
He took to Twitter to claim that his current representative, Deco, is closing in on becoming the new director of football at Barcelona.
The Blues made a large push to sign Raphinha last summer off the back of interest led by former manager Thomas Tuchel.
The German was hoping to operate with a wing pairing of the Brazil international and Raheem Sterling going into last season.
However, despite the Blues agreeing a fee with Leeds United over a transfer, the player and his agent held out for the La Liga club to sort their financial issues out and make the £55m signing themselves.
Raphinha to change agent
He has just completed his first season with the Catalan club, where they found domestic success by winning the league.
However, their performances in Europe did not meet expectations, and Raphinha in particular fronted some of the blame for what went down.
Reports within the last month have linked the player with a move away from Barcelona just a year after he arrived, with financial reasons again being discussed.
The Blues are already heavily invested in the wide areas right now, after the January transfer window saw them spend big money on Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.
There are expectations that the duo are going to be important for the future of the club, and the Englishman in particular has already stated that he is hoping to feature a lot when new manager Mauricio Pochettino gets underway.
It would be difficult to see a world where Raphinha makes the move to Stamford Bridge, especially without the manager who truly wanted him there currently planning his transfers at Bayern Munich.
