Liverpool and Arsenal target Alexander Isak has decided on his next club despite receiving an offer from Manchester United.

Barcelona’s pursuit of Alexander Isak has gained momentum, with reports from Spain suggesting that the Newcastle United striker is actively pushing for a move to Camp Nou this summer.

The 25-year-old’s future at St James’ Park remains uncertain, especially if Newcastle fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League. According to El Nacional, Isak has already rejected offers from both Arsenal and Liverpool as he holds out for his dream transfer to Barcelona, who are highly interested in securing his services.

However, completing the deal will be challenging. Newcastle are reportedly demanding at least €180 million for the Swedish forward—a price that could be a significant obstacle for Barcelona, given their well-documented financial struggles.

Despite this, club president Joan Laporta is reportedly “willing to do everything possible” to sign Isak, viewing him as the ideal long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski.

The striker has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 22 goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances.

Liverpool are also monitoring the situation, reportedly considering Isak as a potential replacement for Darwin Núñez. After his impressive performance against Manchester United in December, Jamie Carragher even claimed on Sky Sports: “He is the best striker in the Premier League right now, and I don’t think it’s even close. He’s the real standout.”

In November, Isak was asked about transfer speculation and responded:

“Throughout my career, I have never spoken about or commented on transfer rumors during the season. This has happened many times over the years, but it doesn’t affect me.

“I am focused on my situation at Newcastle, and I have never had any issues there. My full concentration is on performing well for the team and ensuring we have a fantastic season. That’s my only focus.”

When asked about reports suggesting his representatives were frustrated with Newcastle over contract talks, he added:

“The only thing I can say is that a lot of rumors and information come out, and much of what I read is not true. That’s all I can say on the matter.”
