Liverpool are frontrunners to land ‘aggressive’ Premier League star targeted by Arne Slot.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has already set his sights on strengthening the squad during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to GiveMeSport, Liverpool are currently leading the race to sign Bournemouth’s 21-year-old left-back Milos Kerkez, as they look to secure a long-term successor for Andy Robertson.

The Reds’ pursuit is further strengthened by sporting director Richard Hughes, who was instrumental in bringing Kerkez to Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.

Although clubs like Manchester City and Real Madrid have expressed interest, Liverpool appear to be in pole position.

Kerkez is viewed as a future replacement for Robertson, who is entering the final year of his contract. The young Hungarian has been a standout performer for Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth side this season.

Kerkez’s dynamic playing style—characterized by forward runs and accurate deliveries into the box—mirrors that of Robertson, making him a fitting candidate for the role.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher also commended the defender’s impact, stating:

“Kerkez has been a revelation at Bournemouth. He’s aggressive, he’s got pace. Even when you look at him he looks like a full-back – really aggressive bombing up and down the left side.”

In addition to targeting a new left-back, Liverpool are reportedly exploring options at right-back as well, amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future.
