Liverpool fans have been buzzing on social media after spotting what Dominik Szoboszlai did during Trent Alexander-Arnold’s unveiling at Real Madrid.

On Thursday, Alexander-Arnold was officially introduced as a Real Madrid player at the club’s training facility. The 26-year-old surprised many by beginning his speech in fluent Spanish.
He said: “Thank you for this opportunity. Signing for Real Madrid is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s a dream come true, and I can’t wait to show my skills to the fans.
“I know the weight of representing this club, and I’ll give everything to earn titles and play my best. Thank you, and Hala Madrid!”

During the presentation, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Szoboszlai, still a Liverpool player, reacted to a social media post about the event by commenting with a simple heart emoji on a post from football page 433.

His subtle gesture stirred up debate online. One supporter questioned, “Is it harmless, or should we be annoyed at Szoboszlai?”
Another posted: “Take the number 8 shirt away from him immediately.”
A third said: “Might as well send him to Madrid too.”

Others quickly came to Szoboszlai’s defense. “They’re very close friends—it’s just a sign of support,” one fan explained.
Another added: “Come on, it’s just a heart emoji. No big deal.”
A third wrote: “They know each other personally. It’s normal to show support.”

Speaking further about his transfer, Alexander-Arnold said: “Playing for Madrid isn’t something you usually imagine—it seems so far out of reach. Only a few English players have ever done it.
“To be here now is surreal. I don’t take it for granted, and I’m extremely grateful.”

Real Madrid will now travel to the U.S. to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup.
