Liverpool fans urge the club to retain Darwin Nunez after noticing his striking new appearance as a summer transfer looms.

With the summer transfer window in full swing, Liverpool has been tirelessly working to finalize deals. So far, the Premier League champions have signed Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and they are nearing an agreement for Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez.

After bringing in three new players, Liverpool is now focusing on offloading some members of the squad to raise funds for additional signings. Defender Jarell Quansah is set to move to Leverkusen, while players like Nunez, Harvey Elliott, and Andy Robertson are being linked with moves away from Anfield.

On Tuesday, Nunez surprised fans on his birthday by revealing a bold new look. Instead of his usual long hair, the Uruguayan shaved his head and shared a photo with his girlfriend, Lorena Manas.

During the 2024/25 season, Nunez managed only seven goals and seven assists in 47 matches for Liverpool, leading to speculation that the club may part ways with the 26-year-old. He has been linked with clubs in Saudi Arabia, but it appears that Italian Serie A side Napoli is currently the frontrunner.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted on social media: “Understand Napoli and Liverpool will have direct contacts today to discuss conditions of Darwin Núñez deal. Negotiations are still in the early stages, but Napoli has received the green light from Núñez, as revealed in recent days… and the deal depends on financial requests now.”
