This weekend’s attention will be fully on securing the league title, but just when it seemed Arne Slot was the man to lead us there, it appears he won’t be.

The Reds only need a point against Tottenham Hotspur to seal the title, and while we’ve had our new head coach for less than a season, it seems there’s still much to discover.

As revealed on Transfermarkt, the Dutchman’s full name is actually ‘Arend Martijn Slot,’ with ‘Arne’ being his nickname all along. Interestingly, ‘arend’ translates to ‘eagle’ in English, adding an intriguing twist to the fact that ‘slot’ means ‘lock,’ so our manager’s name translates to Eagle Lock.

It’s a surprising revelation ahead of the 46-year-old preparing to lift the Premier League title in a few weeks, but at least it helps us get to know him better.
