Former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be set for a shock return to English football, with at least one Premier League side monitoring him.

The 32-year-old enjoyed success during his six years at Liverpool—winning the Premier League, Champions League, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup—after previously lifting three FA Cups with Arsenal. Across his Premier League career, he notched 20 goals and 24 assists in 235 appearances.

Oxlade-Chamberlain moved to Besiktas on a free transfer in 2023, but after scoring just five goals and supplying one assist, his contract was terminated last month. He received a £1.5 million severance payout and is now available as a free agent, meaning he can sign outside the transfer window.

Reports suggest Leeds United, currently 12th in the Premier League after one win, one draw, and one loss from their opening three games, are interested in his experience. Championship outfit Birmingham City, sitting tenth after collecting seven points from four matches, are also thought to be keen.
