Liverpool’s position regarding the sale of Andy Robertson has become clear as Atletico Madrid expresses interest in a summer transfer.

Atletico Madrid is reportedly targeting Liverpool’s Andy Robertson this summer, particularly with Milos Kerkez expected to join the club soon. Kerkez will likely step into Kostas Tsimikas’ role as the backup to Liverpool’s two-time Premier League winner.

Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Robertson is interested in a move to La Liga, and initial talks with Atletico Madrid have started. The Spanish side views him as their top left-back choice, even ahead of Theo Hernandez from AC Milan.

Despite the impending transfer of Kerkez, Liverpool still values Robertson highly.

In terms of potential departures, Kostas Tsimikas seems the more likely candidate. While Robertson’s performances have been uneven this season and his contract ends next summer, he is still Liverpool’s most dependable left-back. The club is unlikely to rush into selling him unless he expresses a strong desire to move to Spain.

Robertson appears ready to compete with Kerkez, stating, “When you play for a big club like Liverpool, you expect challenges and competition.” This suggests he is not ready to relinquish his position easily.
