A significant update regarding Alexander Isak’s future has emerged shortly after Manchester United finalized the signing of Benjamin Sesko.

Isak’s situation has been a major topic this summer, with the Newcastle forward not participating in first-team training as he seeks a transfer to Liverpool. The Premier League champions had a bid around £110 million rejected, and reports indicate they won’t make a second offer unless Newcastle provides some encouragement.

Eddie Howe is facing challenges as Newcastle struggles to secure their transfer targets, with Sesko being the latest player to choose a move to Old Trafford over St. James Park. Although Newcastle had an offer accepted for the RB Leipzig forward, it appears he preferred to join Ruben Amorim in Manchester.

Following the confirmation of Sesko’s transfer, it has been reported that Newcastle’s board has informed Isak that he is not for sale this summer. This decision has reportedly caused tension, leaving Isak upset and training away from the first team.

He confirmed that Isak has recovered from the thigh injury that sidelined him during the pre-season tour in Asia, despite Isak traveling to Real Sociedad’s training ground without Newcastle’s permission.

“We’ve had discussions, and it’s clear that we can’t involve him with the group right now,” Howe stated. “I don’t know how long this will last, but that’s the current situation.”

Newcastle continues to pursue various strikers, including Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, and reports suggest Porto’s Samu Aghehowa has been added to their shortlist after missing out on players like Joao Pedro and Hugo Ekitike. None of the targeted strikers are seen as direct replacements for Isak, who remains under contract with Newcastle until 2027.
