Manchester City are close to finalizing a deal to sign Kaylum Moss, a highly-rated young prospect from Liverpool’s academy, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Negotiations between the two clubs are progressing positively, with only a few final details left to be resolved as City look to add the talented teenager to their youth ranks.

Moss, regarded as one of the standout players in Liverpool’s U15 setup, has attracted attention from scouts across the country thanks to his impressive displays over the past year. However, it’s City who have acted swiftly to secure his services.

Romano shared an update on X, stating:
“Manchester City are closing in on another Academy signing: Kaylum Moss from Liverpool.
He’s seen as a top talent at U15 level, and City are working on final terms with Liverpool.”

While senior-level transfers usually make the headlines, City remain deeply invested in strengthening their youth system. They recently brought in young Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg, and Moss is seen as another long-term addition.

City plan to integrate him into their U18 team as part of a broader strategy to develop homegrown talent capable of eventually reaching the first team. Moss, known for his technical skills and versatility in midfield, fits that vision perfectly.

This approach runs parallel to their pursuit of high-profile senior players such as Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Tijjani Reijnders, underlining City’s dual focus on elite youth development and top-level recruitment.
