The English winger has identified the one player he fears facing the most.
Manchester City star Jack Grealish has disclosed the player he dreads going up against, naming his toughest opponent in football.
After more than a decade in the Premier League, Grealish has faced some of the finest players in England.
The 29-year-old has gone head-to-head with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, often regarded as two of the greatest players of all time.
However, when asked to name the most challenging opponent he has ever encountered, Grealish provided a surprising answer.
In an interview with Men in Blazers, Grealish stated: “Kyle Walker. It’s great now because I get to practice against him every day and test myself.
“Before I joined Man City, I played against him at Villa for years, and I dreaded it.
“Seeing his name on the team sheet always meant a tough match. Now, though, it’s nice to challenge myself against him every day.”
Having played alongside the right-back both at City and for the England national team, Grealish has made 103 appearances with Walker.
Earlier this month, he explained why he considers his teammate the most formidable opponent he has ever faced.
He told Sky Sports: “Kyle. He’s an incredible defender—fast, strong, and nearly impossible to get past one-on-one.”
Grealish transferred to City from his childhood club, Aston Villa, in the summer of 2021 for £100 million, making him the most expensive British player at that time.
Four years earlier, Manchester City acquired Walker from Tottenham Hotspur for an initial fee of £45 million.
Since then, the two have collected nearly every major trophy in English football, including three Premier League titles, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup.
However, both Grealish and Walker have struggled for consistent playing time in the current 2024/25 season, with winger Jeremy Doku and young defender Rico Lewis appearing to be favored by manager Pep Guardiola.
