Manchester United faced off against Leicester City in the FA Cup fourth-round clash at Old Trafford on Friday night. All eyes were on defender Patrick Dorgu, who recently joined the club from Italian side Lecce.

The Danish international’s unexpected positioning on the right instead of his usual left caught fans off guard. Despite a lackluster first half, where Bobby Decordova-Reid put Leicester ahead in the 42nd minute, Dorgu’s performance impressed many supporters. However, new manager Ruben Amorim made a surprising decision at halftime, substituting Dorgu for Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho.

Even with just 45 minutes to assess him, United fans quickly formed their opinions on the 20-year-old.

One fan remarked: “Kid was our best player actually making runs?? The kid better have a knock or it makes no sense.”

Another questioned: “Dorgu was arguably our best player but gets hooked at half-time while Dalot stays at LWB?”

A third added: “Dorgu was good, no?”

Others echoed similar sentiments, praising Dorgu’s attacking intent despite being played out of position.

In the second half, United pushed for an equalizer and found their breakthrough when Joshua Zirkzee tapped in from close range in the 68th minute. Then, deep into stoppage time, Harry Maguire sealed a dramatic 2-1 victory with a last-gasp winner.

The Red Devils now shift focus to their upcoming Premier League showdown against Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday.
