Manchester United’s rising star, Chido Obi-Martin, has been making waves since joining from Arsenal, scoring prolifically for his new club after signing his first professional contract in November. The 17-year-old, who was at the heart of a dramatic transfer saga in 2024, now finds himself at the center of another potential shift—this time on the international stage.

During a Christmas Eve training session, Obi-Martin was spotted wearing his old England Under-16s kit, a nod to his brief stint with the Young Lions earlier in the year. He previously represented England in a UEFA Development Tournament last March, making two substitute appearances in 3-0 victories over Scotland and Cyprus.

However, the teenage goal machine has since committed to Denmark, where he has earned 29 caps across youth levels, thanks to his Danish mother. Born in Copenhagen’s Glostrup suburb, he also holds eligibility to play for Nigeria, his father’s homeland.

The Instagram photo of Obi-Martin in his England No.23 shirt alongside coaches and fellow players has fueled speculation about a potential international U-turn. While he expressed his desire to play for Denmark in a March interview with Danish newspaper Bold, his latest gesture hints he may still be weighing his options.

With no binding decision required until he appears in a senior competitive match, could Obi-Martin be reconsidering his allegiance? Only time will tell.
