Mauricio Pochettino has been asked whether he’s comfortable with Chelsea owners coming in to the dressing room after games.

Mauricio Pochettino has been asked repeatedly whether he’s comfortable with Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali coming in to the dressing room after games, just as Graham Potter, Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel were asked the same question before him.

Pochettino has always insisted he’s fine with it, as long as the owners do it in the right way, and so far it seems they have. The impression our manager gives is that the big dogs come in after games to commiserate with the players rather than berate them.

That fits with what Jacob Steinberg has written in his piece about Chelsea today – the Blues ownership are holding steady, despite the bad results to start the season:

“The mood inside Chelsea is calmer than you might imagine. Instead of panicking after another summer of heavy spending with an underwhelming start to the season, they have looked beyond the results, studied the data and concluded that the situation will improve – if they hold their nerve.”

Of course this patience won’t last forever, but as it stands, it seems that our coach has more slack that might have been expected. Much as with most of the fans, it seems those above him are still convinced he’s the man for the job.
