Mikel Arteta’s comments in Arsenal’s post-match interview reveal a lot about their mindset as Liverpool continues to push for the Premier League title.

The Premier League title race isn’t over yet—at least mathematically—but Liverpool delivered another psychological blow to their rivals in the battle for the 2024/25 trophy.

Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister secured a 2-0 victory over Newcastle, allowing the Reds to capitalize on Arsenal’s dropped points in a goalless draw with Nottingham Forest.

Mikel Arteta appears increasingly frustrated this season, and understandably so. With Liverpool now holding a 13-point lead over second-placed Arsenal, the challenge facing the North London side—exacerbated by injuries limiting their attacking options—is clearly weighing on their manager.

Though Arteta wasn’t outright irritable in his post-match interview with TNT Sports, there was certainly some tension in the air.

Is the title race already decided?

Liverpool fans have every reason to feel optimistic about securing a 20th English top-flight title.

The current points gap is substantial, especially considering Liverpool’s strong performances in tough fixtures, earning seven out of nine points from visits to Villa Park and the Etihad, followed by a home win against Newcastle.

While nothing is guaranteed yet, the confidence within the fanbase is justified. If Liverpool wins their next seven games while Arsenal keeps pace, the title could be sealed before Arsenal’s trip to Anfield in May.
