Mikey Moore draws transfer attention as clubs await Tottenham’s decision under new boss Thomas Frank.
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank will need to decide on Mikey Moore’s development path this summer, with journalist Ben Jacobs telling Spurs Web that multiple clubs are closely monitoring the youngster’s situation.
Moore signed his first professional contract with Spurs just before turning 17 last August and is expected to sign a new deal when he turns 18 next month.
The midfielder made his Premier League debut during the 2024/25 season against Manchester City, becoming the youngest player to feature for Tottenham in the competition. Injuries within the squad last season opened the door for more playing time, allowing Moore to make 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring once in the Europa League.
Championship sides eye loan move for Moore
Moore is aiming to impress Frank when pre-season training begins under the new Spurs boss. Although he was recently on international duty with England at the UEFA U19 Euros in Romania, an ankle injury in the group-stage match against Norway ended his tournament early.
Ben Jacobs explained to Spurs Web that while a final decision is yet to be made regarding whether Moore will remain with the first team, there are no plans to sell the highly rated teenager—despite past links to Borussia Dortmund.
Several Championship clubs, including Middlesbrough, Coventry, and QPR, are monitoring Moore’s availability in case Spurs opt for a loan move to give him regular senior experience. West Brom could also be a potential destination, given the presence of former Spurs assistant Ryan Mason, though no formal approach has been made.
Jacobs noted:
“Moore’s future remains undecided, but that’s partly a good sign as he’s still in the frame for first-team involvement. Spurs won’t be short of suitors if they choose to loan him out, but they’ve not made that call yet. Frank will likely want to assess him during pre-season first.”
Moore is expected to feature when Tottenham begin their pre-season campaign next month, with fixtures scheduled against Luton Town, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Bayern Munich.
