Official offer submitted: European giants open negotiations to land Liverpool legend in last-minute deal.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that AC Milan have officially submitted a bid to Liverpool for Joe Gomez, with talks now underway between the two clubs.
The Rossoneri have been tracking the versatile defender for weeks and, after internal discussions, have advanced with a formal proposal for a permanent move. Gomez, Liverpool’s longest-serving current player, has featured 242 times for the Reds across his career.
Milan’s defensive rebuild
AC Milan are intent on bolstering their back line after recent injury setbacks exposed their lack of depth. Gomez is seen as an ideal fit, offering experience at both Premier League and international level and the ability to cover centre-back, right-back, and left-back. Having largely played a supporting role at Anfield, the 28-year-old is keen on securing more regular football elsewhere.
Liverpool’s stance
Liverpool are open to the transfer but only if they first secure Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The Reds have already placed a £35m bid for the England international, who has reportedly agreed personal terms, but Palace are still pushing for a higher package.
Should the Guehi deal go through, Liverpool would be ready to sanction Gomez’s exit, confident of having a replacement lined up. Until then, Gomez remains a key part of Arne Slot’s squad as they prepare for a demanding season on multiple fronts.
