He described the team as being in a “dark place,” with things seemingly “going in the wrong way.” Silva’s comments reflected the challenges City is facing, marking their third consecutive loss—their longest losing streak since 2018.
In a difficult stretch, City was recently knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Spurs and had their impressive 32-game Premier League unbeaten run snapped in a disappointing loss to Bournemouth. Tuesday’s defeat to Ruben Amorim’s Sporting only added to the Citizens’ struggles.
