Postecoglou takes responsibility for Tottenham’s collapse against Brighton.

Postecoglou accepts responsibility
In his post-match comments, Postecoglou took accountability for the outcome but emphasized that the team deserved the loss after easing up. He told the BBC: “It’s fair to say the second half was unacceptable, and we paid the price. We should have finished the game off in the first half. What we did in the second half wasn’t good enough, and we got what was coming to us.

“Maybe we thought we could just turn up and play well again, but that’s not how it works, and we paid for it. We’ve conceded before, but it’s all about how you respond, and our reaction wasn’t what it should have been. It’s a bad day for us, and when that happens, the responsibility lies with me.”

The defense struggled
It was one of the poorest defensive displays from Spurs, with Destiny Udogie at fault for two of the goals. Normally reliable Micky van de Ven was off his game, and Cristian Romero, along with Pedro Porro, also had difficulties dealing with Kaoru Mitoma.
