Postecoglou Struggles to Make Sense of the Loss Clearly frustrated, Postecoglou expressed his disbelief at how his team crumbled. Speaking to Sky Sports, he described it as his toughest defeat since taking charge.
He said: “It’s disappointing, frustrating, and heartbreaking. This is the worst defeat since I arrived. Our second-half performance was unacceptable and nowhere near our standard. We let ourselves get carried away.
“We seemed to accept the result, which is hard to grasp because we’ve never done that before. We paid the price. Things had been going too smoothly for us, and both football and life have a way of bringing you back down if you get ahead of yourself.”

I was shocked by what I saw as Tottenham completely squandered the victory. We dominated the first half and should have maintained the same energy after halftime, but as soon as that first goal went in, we were completely out of the game.
