Report: The departure of a Liverpool player is becoming increasingly probable, and a 26-year-old may take his place.

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is reportedly facing a possible exit from the club at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has struggled with consistent goal-scoring, managing only seven goals last season. Liverpool is seeking an upgrade and has been linked with Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.

Liverpool Considering Nunez’s Replacement

According to Pete O’Rourke from Football Insider, Osimhen could be a target if Nunez leaves, which appears increasingly likely.

“Liverpool has shown interest in Osimhen, particularly if Darwin Nunez departs this summer. He’s being monitored by several clubs due to his contract situation at Napoli.”

Manchester United is also looking at Osimhen as they aim to find a new striker.

Osimhen has proven to be a dependable goal scorer for various teams, making him an appealing option for Liverpool. However, he is likely to come with a significant price tag, and it’s uncertain if Liverpool can secure a deal.

The 26-year-old is also attracting attention from Manchester United and has received offers from Saudi Arabia, but he prefers to stay in Europe for now. Osimhen doesn’t seem to have a future at Napoli and is looking to establish a long-term commitment this summer. After scoring 37 goals during his loan at Galatasaray, he aims to leave Italy permanently and concentrate on his football career.

He could be a considerable upgrade over Nunez.
