Liverpool are reportedly growing more confident in their pursuit of RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons ahead of the summer transfer window, according to CaughtOffside.

The Dutch midfielder is valued at around €70 million and has drawn serious interest from both Liverpool and Manchester City. However, the Reds believe their strong Dutch influence—featuring Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, and incoming manager Arne Slot—could work in their favor.

Although Liverpool are aiming to renew Mohamed Salah’s contract, uncertainty remains over Luis Diaz’s future. Arne Slot is said to have reservations about the Colombian winger, who is attracting attention from Barcelona and clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Simons is viewed as a potential upgrade on Diaz, with Juventus’ Federico Chiesa also being considered after a difficult first season in the Premier League.
