The Saudi Pro League is reportedly preparing a massive offer for Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr as contract negotiations with the Spanish club stall.

Vinicius, who made headlines this week for skipping the Ballon d’Or ceremony after finishing second to Manchester City’s Rodri, is now attracting significant attention from Saudi Arabia. Relevo reports that Real Madrid has contacted Vinicius’ agents about renewing his contract, which he extended until 2027, making him one of the highest earners at the club. However, the player is in no rush to resume talks, instead focusing on his game.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Pro League remains highly interested in Vinicius, who previously turned down an incredible €1 billion (£854 million) five-year offer from Saudi Arabia last August. If accepted, it would have made him the highest-paid player worldwide. Despite his decision to stay in Madrid, the league’s interest endures, with Saudi officials eager to make him the league’s next superstar.

In September, Al Ahli chief Khaled Al Issa confirmed that the club’s technical team had initially considered Vinicius but shifted priorities. When Saudi players left to pursue international careers, the focus turned to signing a forward. This led them to consider Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen, with Toney eventually joining the squad. However, the league remains open to revisiting their offer for Vinicius next summer.
