Sky reporter: Luis Diaz may depart from Liverpool if a specific condition is fulfilled, as top European clubs show interest.
Luis Diaz was a key player in Liverpool’s Premier League title win last season, but his future at the club appears uncertain.
The Colombian striker netted 13 goals in the league and 17 across all competitions while thriving under Arne Slot. Despite having two years left on his contract, he has faced ongoing transfer speculation lately.
Barcelona and Al-Hilal have reportedly identified the 28-year-old as a target this summer. Additionally, sources from his home country suggest that Diaz and his representatives are dissatisfied with Liverpool’s management for allegedly not following through on promises during negotiations for a new contract.
Bayern Munich is now also considering a move for Diaz.
On Monday, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg provided an update, indicating that Bayern has expressed significant interest in the forward. He mentioned that although no negotiations have begun between the clubs, Diaz “could leave” Liverpool if a suitable offer is made.
Plettenberg also noted that Liverpool is actively seeking a new winger, which may hint at potential changes, including Diaz’s departure.
Given the ongoing speculation, many Liverpool fans might not be too worried about Bayern’s interest for the time being.
At Bayern, Vincent Kompany faces competition on the left wing with Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman, making it a challenging environment for any new arrival. However, Diaz’s skills could surpass both players.
If either left winger departs Munich in the coming months, it might encourage Bayern to intensify their pursuit of Diaz, who might feel uncertain about his starting position at Anfield due to the rising talents of Cody Gakpo and new signing Florian Wirtz, who can also play wide.
While Diaz’s future remains uncertain, it is hoped that any contractual issues with Liverpool will be resolved, allowing him to continue showcasing his talent in Merseyside for years to come.
