Quansah on the Radar of Multiple Clubs
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg shared an update on X regarding Liverpool centre-back Jarell Quansah, stating that the 22-year-old is attracting interest from numerous clubs in both England and Germany. While a sale hasn’t been confirmed, Plettenberg noted that a summer exit “is not ruled out” for the Warrington-born defender.
Should Liverpool Let Quansah Leave?
Quansah has had limited opportunities this season, with only a handful of starts under Arne Slot, largely due to the outstanding form of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate. Although he was included in England’s preliminary squad for Euro 2024 last year, he may feel his progress has stalled over the past 12 months.
Liverpool’s failed pursuit of Juventus defender Dean Huijsen suggests the club could still be in the market for a new centre-back, which might further limit Quansah’s minutes next season.
That said, Quansah has shown promise when called upon. Notably, his crucial interception to deny Wolves a late goal in February was highlighted by BBC pundit Micah Richards as a “vital” moment in the Reds’ campaign.
Given Liverpool’s defensive injury woes in recent months, offloading Quansah without a suitable replacement would be a major gamble. If a tempting offer comes in, FSG may consider it — but only if they can secure a defender of equal or greater ability to maintain depth and stability at the back.
