Despite the intense focus on Liverpool’s recent clash with Arsenal, it’s easy to overlook their injury concerns. However, Arne Slot provided a comprehensive update ahead of the Brighton match.

Speaking to the media, Slot shared: “Conor [Bradley] is back in training, so he might be in the squad tomorrow. But [Diogo] Jota, Alisson, Harvey Elliott, and Federico [Chiesa] won’t be, and I don’t expect Chiesa to be in the squad either.”

Regarding Chiesa, he explained, “It’s tricky to predict because his recovery is inconsistent—some days he’s training, then he’s out with injury again. I don’t want to set a timeline; our priority is getting him in top shape without the pressure of deadlines.”

This suggests that of the five mentioned, only Bradley might return soon, with Jota, Alisson, and Elliott potentially sidelined until after the next international break, which is concerning.

Liverpool’s injury issues persist, straining the squad depth, especially in attack. Slot even joked about recalling Ben Doak, given his recent Championship form, to help offset the shortage.

Hopefully, these setbacks end soon so Liverpool can push for silverware with a fully available squad.
