“Thomas Frank pushed to drop Tottenham’s unreliable star after claims he’s been ‘exposed’”

Thomas Frank’s honeymoon period at Tottenham Hotspur appears to be fading, with several key players now coming under heavy criticism.

Spurs have drawn three of their last four games, against Bodo/Glimt, Wolves, and Brighton, and supporters are beginning to question Frank’s approach. Performances have raised concerns, and former Premier League midfielder Darren Ambrose believes one player in particular is being targeted — goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Ambrose pointed out that Vicario’s flaws, especially at set-pieces, are being exploited. The Italian’s struggles with crosses and command in the box have become evident, with opponents deliberately putting pressure on him. “He’s been found out in terms of his crossing, his dictating abilities, in terms of the set plays. I was a set play taker when I played, and I know my management team would have said, ‘Put it right on him,’” Ambrose told TalkSPORT.

Reports indicate that Tottenham officials were already wary of Vicario before the season began, and those doubts are now surfacing. Last summer, AC Milan showed interest in signing him, and the Serie A side could revive that pursuit if Mike Maignan departs.

Meanwhile, Antonin Kinsky is being tipped as a possible replacement. The young Czech goalkeeper is highly rated by Frank, who has spoken of his “bright future.” Unlike Vicario, Kinsky is comfortable with the ball at his feet, and his distribution could provide Spurs with an upgrade in possession play.

With Vicario’s form under scrutiny, Frank may soon face a decision on whether to hand Kinsky the chance to step in as Tottenham’s new number one.
